Dear Speaker (Western Cape Provincial Parliament),

'Article 20' of the 'African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights' (which South Africa ratified on 9 July 1996) states that "All peoples can pursue their economic and social development according to the policy they have freely chosen".

I hereby declare my support for the 'Western Cape Peoples Bill' which asserts this right on behalf of the Western Cape people, and which will then entitle us to make decisions for ourselves about how and by whom we are governed.
